Louisiana State Police Senior Trooper Steven Vincent Dies
Louisiana State Police Senior Trooper Steven Vincent died this morning after he was shot in the head yesterday afternoon with a sawed off shotgun, State Police reports.
“We are heartbroken over this senseless and tragic death,” State Police Superintendent Col. Michael Edmonson said. “our thoughts and prayers are with his surviving wife Katherine and his son Ethan, as well as his entire extended family. Steven was proud to serve as a State Trooper and we were proud to count him among our ranks. This loss exacts an enormous toll on the State Police family, but we will do what is necessary and proper to honor Steve and support those who knew and loved him. He will be missed but never forgotten.”
Vincent’s family released the following statement Monday morning, hours before he succumbed to his injuries:
“The family of Trooper Steven Vincent would like to express our deepest gratitude to the citizens who helped Steven at the scene, all fellow law enforcement, and the people of our community. Your out-pouring of support and prayers have truly uplifted and touched our family during this very trying time. We are so blessed by you all.”
